Our story
Built by someone who saw where support was falling short.
EmpwrU started with a simple observation: support should move people forward.

Why EmpwrU exists
Whilst working alongside people with a disability, Josh saw a pattern. Too often, participants were being kept busy rather than supported to build towards something.
A drive. A trip to the shops. A few hours out of the house. Home again.
There is nothing wrong with any of those things. But Josh believed support could be more intentional. The question shouldn’t just be, “What are we doing today?” It should be, “Where are we going, and how does today help us get there?”
That belief became the foundation of EmpwrU.
We start with the person. Where are you now? Where do you want to get to? What would greater independence, confidence and connection actually look like in your life? Then we build the steps in between.
Every participant has goals. Every shift has purpose. And we document the progress and share it, so participants, families and support teams can see what is changing, not just what has been done.
Because good times matter. But progress is the point. That doesn’t mean support has to feel clinical or serious. We want people to have fun, build friendships, try new things and feel like they belong. We just believe those experiences can also lead somewhere.
That philosophy is in our name. EmpwrU. Empower you. Because ultimately, this isn’t about us. It’s about your goals, your independence and your version of a good life.
We’re simply the tribe around you, helping turn where you are today into where you want to be tomorrow.
